There are still places to discover
You don’t need to go deep into the Amazon to find a place no one has properly documented yet. Leaving the main road in Transylvania is enough.
431 villages, 400,000 houses
Saxon villages follow the same logic: the house on the street, the long yard, the barn at the back, the church in the middle. Yet no two are alike. Of all of them, the world knows a handful well. The rest are waiting.
An atlas written chapter by chapter
For every village we already know a few things from public sources: how many people live there, what it is called in Saxon. We add, chapter by chapter, what no one has measured: how much of the roofs are still tiled, whether the village herd still leaves for the fields in the morning. The first chapter, on roofs, is done.
You can help
If you reach a village and learn something we don’t know yet, tell us. Every confirmed piece of information goes into the atlas, with your name next to it, if you wish.
